Preschool Facility

The school is situated in the education building of Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church.  We utilize an outdoor play area, an indoor gymnasium, three small group classrooms, and a large main teaching room divided into small work areas. This arrangement is ideally suited for early childhood education.  Space and opportunities are provided for the developmental needs of all children.  The children work in multiage groups according to their developmental stage, not their chronological age.  In the large room children work together much as they do in a family.  They are withdrawn for short periods to the smaller rooms for specific developmentally appropriate activities.  The Head Teacher plans creative and academic activities, taking into account the children’s needs and seasonally appropriate opportunities.  Themes and activities are coordinated but adapted to the particular needs of individual children.
